About Mihika
Hi! I am a second-year University of California Santa Cruz psychology student and a native English speaker with a strong academic background in English. I scored 5s in both AP English Language and Literature Composition and I am passionate about helping students build confidence in reading, writing, grammar, and spelling!
My approach is supportive, patient, and structured. I focus on making English clear and approachable through breaking down concepts into simple steps and reinforcing learning through practice, as I understand how difficult it can be at times. I tailor each lesson to the student's level and goals, whether they are working on foundational skills or improving academic writing.
I aim to create a comfortable, no-judgment environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, learn from mistakes, and steadily improve their English skills. I love meeting and helping new people so I cannot wait to meet you!

My tutoring approach focuses on building strong English fundamentals in a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable practicing and asking questions. I use interactive practice and clear explanations to help students improve their reading, spelling, grammar, and writing skills.
A typical lesson starts with a quick review, then moves into targeted practice based on the student's needs. For reading, we work on comprehension and vocabulary. For spelling and grammar, I break down rules with examples and reinforce them through practice. For writing, I help students improve structure, clarity, and sentence-level accuracy. I adjust each lesson to the student's level and goals while giving consistent feedback throughout.
What sets me apart is my strong academic background in English and my patient, encouraging teaching style. As a UCSC psychology student and a native English speaker with the highest scores given on both AP English Language and Composition and AP English Literature and Composition, I am confident helping students and build both accuracy and confidence in English.
