About Megan
I graduated from UCLA with a degree in Psychology and am currently preparing to attend dental school in the fall of 2027. I have already taken the DAT and scored in the 90th percentile, so I understand how much time, practice, and patience it can take to really learn difficult material. I am a kind and patient person, and I want students to feel comfortable asking questions without ever feeling embarrassed for not understanding something right away. I take tutoring seriously, but I also want students to feel relaxed enough to learn at their own pace. My goal is to make challenging subjects feel much more manageable and help students become more confident in what they are capable of.

I know how frustrating it is when something is explained the same way over and over and it still does not click. When I tutor, I try to figure out exactly where the confusion starts and explain it in a different way instead of just repeating the textbook. I like to break problems down into smaller steps, work through examples together, and then have the student try similar questions on their own so I can see what they actually understand. A typical lesson depends on what the student needs that day. We can go over homework, review material from class, prepare for an upcoming test, or focus on a topic they have been struggling with for a while. I also pay attention to how each student learns because some people need to see more examples, some need things explained verbally, and others understand best once they start working through problems themselves. What sets me apart is that I am very patient and I do not expect everyone to understand something after hearing it once. I would rather explain a concept five different ways than have a student leave pretending they understand it. I tutor Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Pre-Calculus, Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology, and Psychology. My lessons are best for middle school, high school, and college students who want extra help, need to catch up, or simply want to feel more confident in a subject.
