About Dexter
In 2024, I graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor's in Geography. I have experience with various tutoring agencies, with a focus in essay writing and Spanish. I followed the same path of academic despair as many others - in high school, I found little joy in writing and studying. Now, my greatest passion is the written word. I hope to help my students as they tackle what seem to be thankless projects, giving them the motivation and inspiration to not only learn but to see value in what they're learning. Beyond writing and the social sciences, I give Spanish lessons from the perspective of a non-native speaker. I taught myself Spanish through countless hours of reading and linguistic exchange. Almost four years after I started, I am fluent and just started translating a to-be-published novel from Spanish to English. I went through all the same struggles and misunderstandings as every other Spanish learner, and I use that to my advantage.
