About Erzen
I'm a researcher and public policy professional, with experience working for the UNDP building education policy in post-conflict societies. My MA dissertation in Intellectual History and the History of Political Thought focused on building a women's history of Cold War liberalism, combining archival research with contextual and historiographical analysis.
Research can feel daunting at first, but it's also genuinely rewarding: finding the right sources, shaping a question you actually care about, and building evidence arguments. I focus on helping students build the underlying skills and confidence to tackle grand ideas independently.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy learning and delving into new ideas and approaches, and look to help students build curiosity and passion for their areas of study and the processes of research and writing.

My lessons will focus on how to approach research methodology, understanding and analysing literature, and structured writing skills. I have experience providing essay support for History and Politics undergraduates, as well as tutoring A-Level History and English Literature students.
30 minute to 1 hour sessions can be tailored to suit your needs, whether structuring an essay, reviewing primary and secondary literature, and approaching a dissertation.
Areas I can help with: developing a research question and thesis, structuring literature reviews, source evaluation and referencing, building and defending theses, and planning projects like dissertations step by step.
