My first priority is that the student understands the concept and not just the problem type. Once a student understands the concept he/she will be able to tackle any problem. To ensure this, I prefer coming up with my own questions for the students which will have a slightly different format then they're used to. Once they can solve my question I make them practice questions similar to ones their school gives so that they are very comfortable in handling those types of questions.
