About Anish
I’m Anish, a 21-year-old Medicine student at UCD who scored in the 97th percentile on the HPAT—a test I know can feel overwhelming without the right approach. Having navigated the Leaving Cert (625 points) and the HPAT relatively recently, I totally get the pressure you’re under. But here’s the good news: the HPAT is learnable, and with the right strategies, you can dramatically boost your score.
Why my approach works:
Breakdown of each section - I’ll teach you how to tackle Logical Reasoning, Problem Solving, and Interpersonal Understanding efficiently using actionable tactics.
Time management hacks - The HPAT is a race against the clock. I’ll share the exact timing strategies I used to stay calm and avoid panic-guessing.
Pattern recognition - Over 60 students tutored (all levels!), I’ve pinpointed the recurring "trap" questions and how to outsmart them.
Flexibility - No rigid lesson plans, we’ll focus on your weak spots.
My background:
- 97th percentile HPAT scorer (2022)
- Former Kumon Math/English student (Level M math by 15)
- 4th year Medicine student at UCD
- 625 points in the Leaving Cert

At the heart of my HPAT teaching is a focus on mastery and execution. The HPAT is a test of how you think and my approach ensures you don’t just practice questions blindly, but understand the underlying patterns that recur across all three sections.
1. Deconstructing the HPAT Mindset
Logical Reasoning: Teach you to spot distractors and isolate core arguments.
Problem Solving: Break down abstract puzzles into familiar steps.
Interpersonal Understanding: Translate vague scenarios into clear behavioral principles (e.g., conflict resolution frameworks).
This shifts your focus from "What’s the answer?" to "Why is this the answer?"
2. Active, Adaptive Application
Once the "click" happens, we drill into exam-condition simulations with past HPAT questions and custom-designed challenges. We analyze traps, time sinks, and recurring themes (e.g., how the HPAT disguises correct answers in Section 1).
Flexible pacing: If you’re acing abstract logic but struggle with data interpretation, we rebalance immediately.
3. Progress Through Precision
Feedback loops: Transparent breakdowns of mock test results, highlighting exactly where to refine.
Why Does This Work for the HPAT?
Medical schools want problem-solvers, not memorisers. My method mirrors this by training you to adapt under pressure and trust systematic approaches over gut feelings.

Anish is a great tutor that cares for your growth in academics while fairly pricing his grinds. criminally underrated and would definitely recommend
Incredible Knowledge on every topic, very personal lessons and understands where students needs to improve and what they are good at, student focused lessons
I started doing chemistry grinds with Anish at the start of 6th yr and I can really see an improvement in my grades
I highly recommend Anish for Grinds. They are patient, knowledgeable, and tailor lessons to help students succeed.
Anish really helped me with chemistry, he's patient and answers all my questions clearly , Highly recommend Anish for grinds
Anish is an amazing tutor. He effortlessly breaks down complex concepts into easily understandable segments by the use of pure logic and simple analogies. Every class is centred on the needs of the student, if I wanted a crash course on a certain concept before a class test, that's what the lesson would be on instead of the typical exam paper preparation for instance. I was very poor at maths and struggled even in my grinds classes however Anish helped me strengthen my understand of the fundamentals of maths to ensure I had a strong foundations to build upon. He is very amiable and encouraging which is nice when you're stressed for big upcoming exams. I would recommend Anish for any student of any level
