About Nil

I graduated from University of British Columbia in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Integrated Engineering. This is a unique, multi-disciplinary, and project-based engineering program where I specialized in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mathematics.

Background on my tutoring experience:

- I have about 3 years of online tutoring experience.
- I tutor IB HL/SL Mathematics, Linear Algebra, Mathematical Proof, Calculus I, Calculus II, Differential Equations, Multi-Variable Calculus.
- I have one year of Teaching Assistant experience at the University of British Columbia.

Engineering Background:

I was a part of a race car engineering design team for 5-years and worked on the aerodynamics of the open-wheel race car. I completed three internships at Tesla in California while I was in university. I did mechanical design engineering, technical project management, and thermal engineering.

I worked at Tesla full-time for a year right after graduation as a Software Integration Engineer and worked at Parallel Domain as a Software QA Engineer after for 6 months.

About the lesson

Math has always been a favourite course of my mine and I would like to encourage all ages to see the fun and beauty in mathematics. My tutoring sessions are tailored based on how the student learns and what they need that week. I provide exam prep support, homework, support, and review. I'm very open to feedback and prefer my students being vocal about their needs and what they would like to focus on in each lesson.

Lesson plan:

- I hold my tutoring sessions online. You will receive a Zoom link from me that we will use for all our sessions.
- In our first session, I would like to get to know you and your goals for the tutoring sessions. Then we'll dive right in to doing some math!
- At the beginning of each lesson I will ask you what you'd like to focus on. Let's keep the communication going!
- I love providing resources for my students and like to make it fun so I will share some very cool YouTube channels with you. Visualizing math can be very helpful and also very interesting!
