Reading and writing can be challenging, but my job is to simplify the steps so that the student can eventually tackle them on their own.
For reading-focused needs, tutoring sessions would look like reviewing the content in the session, breaking down the concepts, and analyzing the main ideas.
For writing-focused needs, tutoring sessions would look like reading the prompt aloud, brainstorming topics, working on outlines, and then guided revisions.
My goal is to help the student grow to a point where they no longer need me. My tutoring skills are best fit for students in middle or high school.
