About Owini

VCE (and high school in general!) was super daunting, but going into my English and lit classes was the one thing that kept me sane. I loved the subjects and learning new and interesting ways to analyse and evaluate texts became somewhat like a pastime. Ultimately, my commitment to the subjects earned me my goal study scores and ATAR - a 42 in literature and 47 in English, and a 95.10 ATAR. I am now majoring in English literature at the University of Melbourne. I will work with you to hopefully attain your goals, but mostly working to keep your spirits high in a draining year and proving how capable you are in an equally overwhelming subject. I also embrace writing in my free time - I was a winner of ABC Takeover in 2022, I've won/placed for multiple writing competitions and have a background in leadership as I was a college captain in year 12. I'm totally here to help you and provide my experiences as resources, and we'll work together to build a strong understanding of text analysis and essay forming.

About the lesson

In lessons that happen as frequently as you want/ need, we'll work together to underline your specific strengths and weaknesses and ultimately hope to make you feel confident in rather abstract subjects. I have a strong grasp of the new study designs and aim to make the content as accessible as possible.

Of course, I am incredibly passionate about lit and English; I recognise that sometimes the way it's taught and standardised can make it overwhelming and difficult, but I really care not only about your scores, but about building your curiosity and comprehension of texts.
