About Jonathan
I am an avid reader with a BA in English writing. I have experience tutoring in math (K-12, up to Trigonometry) and English (K-12 as well as college-level) and have had work published in a local short story anthology.

My teaching methodology is focused on what the student needs - giving the student the skills they need for the type of writing they need to do, and helping them approach the task with confidence instead of fear.
A typical lesson will focus on a particular project - an essay, report, or other project. Time will be spent analyzing the prompt to fully understand the requirements. Once the scope is understood, different strategies can be discussed. With a draft in hand, we can look at both the student’s weak areas and their strengths.
The end goal of this process would be that the student has an accurate understanding of their writing abilities and can complete writing projects in a timely fashion and without undue stress. Ideally, they will be confident in their strengths and have tools to use to improve and overcome their weaknesses.
