About Heather
I have been providing tutoring for the past seven years with a variety of students and in a variety of different school subjects. Some of my tutoring experience has been solely homework help, in which I have provided guidance and assistance in any homework assignments. However, some tutoring experience has been specific to prepare for a certain state test, increase knowledge in certain subjects over the summer, and practice specific skills. My strengths are in tutoring first grade through eighth grade math and English language arts, but I am also open to tutoring in other subjects. I have also tutored college students in helping to write essay papers, resumes, and study psychology since I am currently getting a graduate degree in Counseling besides my elementary/special education undergraduate background.

My teaching methods vary based upon the student. Every student is different and so every student's learning style will also be different. Due to this, I tend to follow the student's lead in how that student learns best. Whether it is completely online tutoring or participating in hands-on projects outside. I am open to it all and I will be willing to change my style in order to better fit the student. I am open to meeting in person for tutoring, but also provide online tutoring as well.

Details
My rates vary between 20-30 dollars depending on the type of tutoring and amount of preparation that is needed. For example, is homework help is being provided the price will be lower. If I am preparing lessons from scratch as well as tutoring, the prices will be higher. Travel times over 20 miles will also have a small fee added to the charge price. I am willing to negotiate prices though based on need.
