About Ragan
Hello, I’m Ragan! I’m a writer and lifelong learner who graduated from Western Carolina University. While I explored a few more conventional paths throughout my education, I always found myself circling back to the English language. I’ve learned that when we lean into our natural gifts, we leave just enough room to grow in the areas that challenge us most. Outside of tutoring, I work in higher education and volunteer with local women’s support programs in my community. When I’m not working or volunteering, you can usually find me walking my coonhound or getting lost in a good book.

While working towards my degree, I found the best way to learn was by making meaningful connections—especially ones you are passionate about. That is what I bring into my tutoring sessions. I don’t just make the material more digestible- I make it fun and relevant. Whether we’re working on essays, grammar, or literature comprehension, I help students build confidence by connecting the dots in ways that feel natural and engaging.
Through my education, I became well-versed in authors from Woolf to Chaucer to Morrison, always finding the thin line that interconnects all of it. And when it comes to writing, I focus on helping students find their own voice, structure their ideas clearly, and grow as thinkers and communicators.
