My teaching approach is to firstly identify:
-areas the tutee needs further work on, make list
-look into their exam specification for the topics need to be covered, make list
-identify their learning style (visual, auditory ect) and adapt accordingly
Lesson layout:
-lesson plan always made prior to lesson in accordance to list of topics and appropriate resources for maximum success
-start of lesson-address any immediate concerns
-during lesson-explain topic on whiteboard with diagrams, answering questions and testing knowledge
-end of lesson-go over exam-style questions, giving my useful hints & tips I've learnt throughout the years
