About Lawrie

I have a 2:1 Master of Mathematics degree from Oxford University (4 years), a Maths Teaching degree from UCL (London), 4 A*s in A-levels (Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry) and 9A*s and 1A in GCSEs. I have also tutored privately and taught in secondary schools since 2019.

I love the dynamic of tutoring- it's always a great privilege to be able to support someone on their journey in mathematics and to get to know them.

I hope I can be an encouraging and inspiring tutor for you!

About the lesson

My lessons are mainly for those studying for GCSE or A Levels.

For GCSEs, I can cover any exam board and can provide general support from homework assistance to teaching full modules in the GCSE syllabus from scratch.

For A level students, my approach differs according to ability more.
My aim long-term is to teach them how best to learn and study mathematics on their own- and to really finetune their mindset.
I focus on leaning more into proving mathematical facts that they learn, a similar taste to the paradigm we follow in University Mathematics, but if a student is struggling with A level Mathematics I can adapt with covering the basics needed to pass the A level.

Perfect! Lawrie is a FANTASTIC tutor! His knowledge of the topics I needed help on was amazing. His teaching style develops a more independent and out the box approach which makes answering harder exam questions ALOT easier.
