About David
I am a Mathematics graduate from the University of Sheffield with a strong understanding of mathematical reasoning, problem-solving and analytical thinking. I enjoy breaking down challenging ideas and helping students see that even the most difficult topics can become manageable with a clear explanation and the right approach.
I understand that every student learns differently, so I aim to be patient, approachable and adaptable. My goal is not simply to help students find the correct answer, but to develop their confidence and give them the skills to solve problems independently.
I offer online tuition in Mathematics and Physics for GCSE and A-Level students, including support with algebra and trigonometry. I take preparation seriously and work to ensure that every lesson is focused, supportive and suited to the student’s goals.

My lessons are designed to turn difficult topics into clear, manageable steps. I adapt each lesson to the student’s individual needs, whether they want to strengthen their understanding, improve their confidence or prepare for an exam.
I begin by identifying any gaps in the student’s knowledge before explaining the topic using straightforward examples. We then work through questions together, gradually progressing to independent practice. For exam preparation, I use past-paper questions to develop problem-solving skills, exam technique and confidence under timed conditions.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes, although this can be adjusted to suit the student. I provide online lessons for GCSE and A-Level students studying Mathematics or Physics, including topics such as algebra and trigonometry.
I hold a Mathematics degree from the University of Sheffield and aim to create a patient, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.
