About Aoife

I have been tutoring since I completed my A-Levels in 2017! I am currently at university studying Theatre (within the syllabus of my degree I spend around 3 hours on analysing poetry a week and 5 or more on plays!), I adore Shakespeare and I love to read. I attained all A*-A grades in both my GCSEs and ALevels.

About the lesson

Tutoring is an individual practice. It's great because it means that to every student I teach I will bring a different approach to the session depending on their needs. However, there are some key principles I will always stick to.

No matter the level of student I will always be invested in their progress. Initially I would hope to outline around 3 main goals that you wish to achieve. Over the course of our session(s) I will consistently check in on the development of those objectives.

My lessons will always be interactive, I aim to be as engaging as possible and to encourage the student to be an independent learner. This is so whatever they may gain from my lessons will stay with them and continue to benefit them in their learning.

While content is obviously very important, exam technique is crucial if you want to attain a solid mark. I will aim to deliver the key material of this potentially boring aspect of your exams in a succinct and fun way!

And finally I am relaxed. Providing a stress free and non judgemental or confrontational environment for students in very important to me. I learn best when I am happy and comfortable. never want my students to feel under pressure when they are being tutored by me! It garners better results and leads to a happier student (and a happier tutor!)

Aoife is above all approachable and patient, which makes her an exceptional tutor. She always wants me to understand concepts and will always adapt her approach depending on the individual. I love her passion for the arts, which she shares with her students. Aoife’s enthusiasm made me look forward to our sessions and helped me engage. I was never afraid to ask questions. My confidence and acting ability has grown hugely. Thank you Aoife!

I really like Aoife as my tutor. She has helped me with monologues for Shakespeare and really helps me understand what is happening in the text. I really feel I have benefited since she began tutoring me and I have become a better performer
