About Ida

Hi, I’m Ida! I am an 18-year-old student, studying History and Politics at University College Dublin.

I was born in Germany, and have lived in France since I was three years old. Since then, I have completed my International French Baccalauréat in both French and English, before moving to Dublin for university. In 2016, I also lived in Dublin for one year with my family, which helped me to improve my English language skills. I speak German, French and English fluently, and I’ve always enjoyed teaching languages at different levels to others, such as family members and paid tutoring.

I have previously tutored children in English and Math, which I really enjoyed, and I would now love to share my knowledge of French with students of all ages and levels. Whether you're looking for help with schoolwork, preparing for an exam, improving your grammar, or simply wanting to feel more comfortable speaking French, I'm happy to adapt my lessons to what works best for you.

I am friendly, patient and approachable, and I want my lessons to be a relaxed space where you can ask questions, make mistakes and build confidence at your own pace.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is patient and adapted to the student’s level, needs and goals. Having grown up entirely in French society and the French school system, I have a strong comprehension of both written French and professional or casual spoken French.

I have previous tutoring experience in English and Math, which has taught me to be patient when a concept takes time and to adapt my explanations to different ages. In fact, I keep my lessons engaging and interactive. As a trilingual university student speaking French, German and English, I understand the experience of learning and using different languages myself. My goal is to create a safe space, a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

For French, I can help with grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, written expression, comprehension and conversation, as well as schoolwork and exam preparation for younger students. I am also very happy to work with adults, particularly those who would like to practice their conversational French, improve their pronunciation or simply become more confident speaking the language.

Lessons typically last around one hour, but I am happy to adapt the length depending on the student's age, level and needs.
