About Melvina

I’m Melvina, a trilingual language teacher from Toronto, Canada, with over 6 years of experience teaching English, French and Portuguese.

Having grown up between French and English in Canada and later learned Portuguese after moving to Portugal at 12, I know firsthand what it takes to learn and become confident in a new language.

Today, I teach children, teenagers and adults, from complete beginners to advanced learners. My lessons are personalized around each student’s goals — whether you want to improve your conversation skills, prepare for school, work, travel, exams or simply feel more confident speaking English.

I’m also the founder of DMR Fluency, an online language school specializing in personalized English, French and Portuguese education.

My goal is simple: to help you use English naturally and confidently through dynamic, personalized lessons focused on real communication.

About the lesson

My lessons are built around one simple principle: you learn a language by using it.

From the very first lesson, you’ll have opportunities to speak, listen and communicate in realistic situations. Rather than spending an entire class memorizing grammar rules, I focus on helping you actually use the language.

Depending on your goals, we can work on:

✓ Conversation and speaking fluency
✓ Pronunciation and accent reduction
✓ Listening comprehension
✓ Grammar and vocabulary
✓ Everyday English
✓ English for work and business
✓ Travel and practical communication
✓ School and academic English
✓ Exam and interview preparation
✓ Reading and writing
✓ Building confidence when speaking English

I use videos, exercises, worksheets, conversation activities and interactive resources, always adapted to your level and learning style.

My lessons are suitable for children, teenagers and adults, from beginners to advanced students.

The first lesson is free and gives us the opportunity to get to know each other, assess your level and understand exactly what you want to achieve. From there, we can create a learning path that fits your needs.

When I started learning English, I only knew the basic grammar and vocabulary, but in less than a year, Melvina made me reach the C1 level. She's a great teacher and always made herself available on weekends.
