About Annmarie

Experience-wise, I come to you with 3 decades of professional, in-home tutoring, mentoring, and classroom facilitation history - including extensive one-on-one experience crafting creative and impactful lesson plans for learners of all ages, grade levels, and capabilities. While I've successfully engaged and enjoyed each and every student experience, I find myself especially drawn to the specific areas of middle school/junior high math, language arts, public speaking, and special needs. I've proudly spent my lifetime participating in school district Supplemental Services Programs and the John Peterson Autism Scholarship Program, which has given me experience and insight with learners with Autism and brain injury.

Academically, I hold a Masters Degree in HR Management (with concentrations in diversity & inclusion and learning & development), a PK-12 substitute license, an Instructional Assistant permit, and am currently completing my certification as an Intervention Specialist and Integrated Language Arts teacher.

I thoroughly enjoyed both the academic and social aspects of my childhood school experience and am proud and thrilled that my life's calling allows me to continue learning and connecting in my adulthood through the innovative and passionate art of TEACHING! As a professional educator, my passionate goal is to pass along my love of learning to a new generation and help learners both young and old discover and nurture their best selves! Not only do I teach solid subject foundations and tips and tricks, but I also incorporate old-school values, hands-on curiosity, and study- and time-management skills into every lesson.

My job is to help you meet your short-and long-term learning goals in the most efficient and creative way. But my DESIRE is to do that with empathy and individualized attention and care and give you a wonderful, memorable experience along the way. I take a servant-leadership approach to guiding, supporting, and motivating – which means I'll always collaborate excitedly with you, keep my promises to you, communicate with you transparently, exhibit sound judgment, patience, and confidentiality, and be a TEAM with you as we work towards solutions and a “win” together.
