About Julian
I hold a PhD in Computer Science with experience in academic research, teaching and senior roles in industry. I’ve published research in reputable academic journals and regularly work with students and professionals to help them communicate complex ideas more clearly.
I enjoy helping people develop their own thinking rather than simply correcting their work. My aim is to give you the confidence, structure and critical-thinking skills to express your ideas with clarity, intellectual rigour and impact.

My lessons are highly personalised and focused on helping you become a stronger, more confident thinker and writer — not simply improving one piece of work.
I work with students, researchers and working professionals on everything from essays, dissertations and theses to business cases, reports and senior-level professional writing. We start by understanding what you are trying to communicate, who your audience is and where you are currently getting stuck.
From there, I help you break complex ideas down, organise your thinking, develop a clear argument and communicate it with greater clarity, precision and intellectual rigour. We can work together on structure, critical thinking, academic style, argument development, reviewing drafts and making complex ideas easier for your reader to understand.
Most importantly, I will not simply rewrite your work for you. My aim is to help you understand why something can be improved so that you develop skills you can apply independently to future dissertations, essays, reports, proposals and business cases.
Lessons can be tailored to undergraduate and postgraduate students, doctoral researchers and professionals who want to communicate their ideas with greater confidence, structure and impact.
