My Approach to Tutoring English as a Second Language I aim to create engaging, supportive, and goal-oriented lessons that build students’ confidence and practical language skills. My approach combines communicative language teaching with a focus on real-world usage, personalization, and clear progress tracking. Techniques and Teaching Methodology Communicative approach – I prioritize speaking and listening activities that reflect authentic situations (e.g., ordering food, job interviews, small talk). Task-based learning – Lessons often include projects or tasks (writing emails, preparing presentations) that provide a real purpose for using English. Grammar in context – I teach grammar and vocabulary through meaningful use, not isolated drills. Visuals, audio, and interactive tools – I use slides, videos, and online tools to make lessons dynamic and cater to different learning styles. Error correction and feedback – I provide gentle, constructive feedback to help students self-correct and build accuracy. Cultural insights – I integrate cultural notes to help students navigate English-speaking environments more confidently. Typical Length of a Lesson My lessons typically last 60 minutes, though I also offer 30-minute sessions for conversational practice or 90-minute sessions for intensive study. The lesson length depends on the student’s goals and availability. Qualifications and Experience I hold a TEFL certification and have completed 120 hours of ESL-specific training. Who Are My Lessons For Level: I teach students from beginner (A1) to advanced (C1/C2). Age group: My lessons are suitable for adults and teenagers (13+). I adapt materials and methods based on age and learning preferences. Learners’ needs: Whether a student wants to improve fluency, grammar, pronunciation, writing, or prepare for exams or work-related communication, I tailor the lessons accordingly.
