About Avantika
I am currently a sophomore student at a biotechnology-focused high school. I've been in Advanced English since the second grade and currently take English II honors. I've had poems published in books previously and English has always been my highest scoring subject, as I've previously received a perfect score on the NJSLA English state testing. When tutoring students, I like to understand their capabilities one by one to help them improve.

For some, English is boring and they don't understand why they need to learn it. I sympathize with those people and my thinking while tutoring it is to not only help them improve but to also help them better understand and enjoy learning the subject. I like to personally connect with my students to better understand them and their strengths and weaknesses to help them improve. Tutoring isn't only about teaching, it's about understanding the student as well as the material. I believe that with my level of attending a top high school, I have a good understanding of English from the levels K-8 and can help people improve. Whether it be through spelling, grammar, oral speaking, literacy, or reading comprehension!
