My Approach to Tutoring and Class Structure
I believe in a personalised, student-centered approach to tutoring, where each lesson is tailored to the student’s unique needs, strengths, and goals. My primary focus is to help students understand complex topics through simplified explanations, real-world examples, and active problem-solving. By encouraging students to ask questions and work through challenges, I foster confidence and independent thinking.
Teaching Techniques and Methodology
I start each session with a quick assessment of the student’s current understanding of the topic. Then, I break down concepts into manageable sections, using visual aids, diagrams, and interactive discussions. I emphasise active learning by guiding students through practice problems and discussing different ways to approach exam questions.
Typical Lesson Length
A standard lesson lasts 1 hour, with flexibility to extend if needed. This duration allows for a focused deep dive into the topic without overwhelming the student. We spend the first part reviewing and clarifying any doubts from previous sessions, the main portion on new content, and the final minutes on a summary and practice questions.
Qualifications and Experience
I achieved nine Grade 9s at GCSE, including in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Maths. My recent experience as a GCSE student allows me to relate to current challenges and share effective strategies that worked for me.
