About Eva

I am a second-year Biological Sciences student at the University of Exeter with a strong academic background in the sciences and a genuine passion for helping students succeed. I achieved A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology, alongside strong GCSE results including grades 7–9 across the sciences and mathematics.
Alongside my studies, I completed a work experience placement at the John Innes Centre, where I worked with researchers investigating genetic mutations in wheat and MeiraGTx. This experience strengthened my scientific knowledge and developed my analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
I understand that every student learns differently, so I take a patient, supportive, and professional approach to tutoring. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to build confidence and develop a deeper understanding of the subject. Lessons are carefully prepared, tailored to individual needs, and focused on helping students achieve their academic goals.
As a current university student, I am familiar with the demands of modern examinations and can provide up-to-date guidance on revision techniques, exam preparation, and effective study habits. I am committed to creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace.

About the lesson

I aim to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in their abilities. My teaching approach focuses on building a strong understanding of key concepts before applying them through exam-style questions and problem-solving exercises.
Lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, learning style, and exam board requirements. I break down complex topics into manageable sections, use diagrams and real-world examples to aid understanding, and regularly assess progress through quizzes and practice questions. Particular emphasis is placed on exam technique, as this is often the key to improving grades in GCSE science subjects.
Typical lessons last 60 minutes, although shorter or longer sessions can be arranged depending on the student's needs.
I am currently a second-year Biological Sciences student at the University of Exeter, with A-levels in Biology (B), Chemistry (B), and Psychology (A).
My lessons are primarily aimed at GCSE Biology, GCSE Chemistry, and Combined Science students (typically ages 11–16). I can also provide support for students preparing for science assessments or looking to strengthen their understanding of key topics and study skills.
