About Charlotte

I am passionate about helping aspiring students achieve the best grades that they can. My skills of patience, being a good listener and ability to tailor strategies that helped me achieve top grades to each student allow me to help students with their individual needs. My friendliness and approachability allow students to feel comfortable expressing their concerns. I understand that applying to university can feel stressful and occasionally overwhelming, and my personal experience enables me to guide students through this process to produce their best possible application. I achieved all 9s at GCSE and all A*s at A Level. I graduated with a BA in English Literature from the University of Cambridge and am now studying graduate medicine at the University of Southampton.

About the lesson

I offer typically one hour lessons delivered online which can be tailored for different exam boards. My approach to teaching GCSEs and A Level consists of setting a practice question for homework then discussing the mark and feedback in the lesson. We will also cover tips for essay writing, ways to analyse texts and how to write the different forms of formal writing in the language paper. I will help my student to add to their notes on the texts that they have studied in class and teach them how to apply these notes to specific essay questions. I have experience tutoring for English Language and Literature GCSE and have significantly improved students' grades. Personal statement lessons will consist of discussing how to build a competitive résumé, then editing drafts until we are happy with the final result. My interview lessons will consist of advice for suitable reading then each session will involve a practice interview followed by feedback. My lessons can be tailored to suit any student.
