About Isabelle

I am going into my third year of university at Toronto Metropolitan (Ryerson) starting in the Fall of 2022. Before that I studied marketing for two years at The University Of Ottawa before I switched to study Entrepreneurship at Ryerson instead. I graduated high school in 2020, not a fun year to graduate to say the least. But, like everyone else I adapted. I finally was able to go to campus and have some in person classes starting in September 2021, which was very exciting. Despite this, the bulk of my learning has occurred on a computer and over zoom, so I understand the struggles of online learning. Once I graduate, my plans are to get a degree in pastry arts and then combine my two degrees to start my own business of some sort. Until then, I am very excited to start tutoring and inspire students to reach for the stars, like how my tutor did for me.

About the lesson

I am open to tutoring elementary math up to grade 8. My goal as a teacher is to get students to understand and be confident in math. Math is an intimidating subject, something I struggled with when I was younger due to a learning disability. I have learned from experience how nerves and a low confidence in your abilities can get the best of you. I want to help students learn in a positive environment where there are no stupid questions and they can slowly grow more and more confident in their skills and knowledge. My ultimate goal is to help my students get to the point where they no longer need me, as long as that takes. That is what my tutor did for me, and it is what I will do for my students. I am happy to meet students in person at a local public library or other location in Etobicoke or around Toronto Metropolitan University (Ryerson University).
