About Emily
I don't believe that anyone is beyond understanding or comprehension of math material. I don't live in an honor/shame society, but there is a lot of shame in today's culture around not understanding simple things that take longer for some to understand than others. I want to cultivate an environment of growth and encouragement to eradicate that shame, and prove to you that you are capable of accomplishing your goals.

My approach is to evaluate what you already know and focus on meeting you where you are at to best help you understand math concepts. If rote memorization is your best friend, I'm not the tutor for you - I prefer to explain how to get to the formulas so you understand the concepts and can craft the formulas you need from understanding rather than memory.
A typical lesson plan can be as short or as long as you need it to be to fit your time schedule.
