About Rob
My name is Rob, I'm from Aotearoa New Zealand. I'm a writer, musician and visual artist. I have a degree in English and Media Studies from Massey University and am a keen lover of linguistics and literacy. So for me it's not just about spelling and reading, but also an understanding of how English works well.

My best way of teaching is by taking you through a text - like a story, or something that means something to you. Then we can go through any words you don't know and any ways the sentences are made up, and show how they work together with other words and ideas.
I've taught overseas informally and had good results with this style, as well as helping with adult literacy. For more advanced learning, I can help with your grammar and spelling, especially if you're writing for work.
Whatever your age, we can make it easy and friendly for you, for half or or hour long lessons.
