About Jay
I am an accomplished dancer that has danced Hip Hop for 22 years... My first form of Hip Hop dance is Breakin’ or more traditionally known as breakdancing ... I am also versed and able to teach in other styles such as House and social hip hop dances... I can also teach basics in popping/glides, and locking... I am versed in teaching grooves, rhythmic bounces and movement... Harmonizing physical movement with sound... My teaching methods are not just based on physical movements as I use dance as therapy ... Using it as an artistic or emotional escape... My teaching style heavily focuses on character and confidence development. Whether it be physical or mental growth... Dance stimulates multiple senses and feeds the spirit.

My lessons are usually dictated by the goals of the student taking the lesson. But in general my teaching style emphasizes in comfort, confidence, and character. Education in rhythm, counts or grooves. Dance in Hip Hop, House, Popping, locking, breaking, and other styles. I am a very passionate teacher that values the meaning of art and confidence. I teach movement as well as self empowerment... Having more confidence in expression. Using the arts as a skill based training or as a therapeutic practices.
