About Alison
I've been told that I'm too good at working myself out of a job. If I can inspire confidence and a good foundation in the student, the best outcome of that they can, after working with me to get the skills they need, continue to succeed on their own. Of course I'm available for future help as needed.
I like to focus on instilling skills for success such as better assessment skills, organization, using resources at their disposal.... just
as importantly a the subject matter. If your student is also struggling with ADHD or ASD, I am very experienced in helping with strategies for success with them as well. No student is hopeless.

I've been told that I can make complicated subjects seem simple. I'm good at working on the fly, and I adapt well to the learning style of my student. I have a good deal of varied advanced coursework, so I never stop learning. My hobbies are history and travel. I've been involved in advocacy of women in STEM for 30 years. I have a soft spot for middle/high school girls struggling when they "hit the wall" in math and science. My theoretical background together worth varied and advanced coursework means that I can explain the *why* to your student in an approachable and non- intimidating manner.
