About Nancy
Hi there! Thanks for stopping by. I have a PhD in Education and over 25 years of teaching experience. I’ve worked with adult learners in classrooms and young children online. My focus is on helping students improve their reading, writing, and understanding of what they read. These are important skills for school, work, and everyday life. My lessons are friendly, clear, and easy to follow. I like to break big ideas into small steps, show you how it’s done, and then practice together. I use fun and age-appropriate materials, and I always make sure that what we do in class connects to your real life and background. Fun Fact About Me: I’ve been teaching English online for over 7 years. One activity I often use to help students practice transitional words is asking them to explain how something is done or made. One day, a student took it a step further. She brought her laptop into the kitchen and gave me live, step-by-step instructions on how to make dumplings. I loved it! Now, thanks to her, I’m the official dumpling chef in my family.

As a holder of a Doctor of Philosophy in Education, I bring both deep academic expertise and over 25 years of practical teaching experience to my tutoring. Lessons typically run for 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the student’s age, learning goals, etc. For young children, shorter, more focused sessions are ideal. Older learners may benefit from more in-depth engagement.
