About Alice

I'm a self-taught learner who uses AI every day to learn programming, build software projects, conduct research, and solve technical problems. My focus is not on memorizing syntax or collecting certifications—it's on learning how to ask better questions, think independently, and use AI as a tool without becoming dependent on it.

I specialize in helping beginners overcome the feeling that programming is "too complicated" or "not for them." Rather than simply providing answers, I teach students how to break down difficult problems, understand AI-generated code, and develop the confidence to investigate unfamiliar topics on their own.

My teaching style is conversational, practical, and project-focused. Whether you're interested in Python, AI tools, automation, or simply becoming more comfortable with technology, my goal is to help you build the skills needed to learn independently long after the lesson is over.

You do not need prior programming experience. Curiosity and a willingness to ask questions are enough.

Course Description

This course teaches a practical approach to learning programming with AI. Rather than memorizing prompts or blindly accepting generated code, students will learn how to use ChatGPT and Codex as learning partners while developing independent problem-solving skills.

The course focuses primarily on Python, though students may choose another programming language if it better matches their goals.

Topics include:

• Using ChatGPT and Codex as programming tutors
• Reading and understanding AI-generated code
• Breaking large problems into smaller questions
• Learning core programming concepts through discussion and experimentation
• Reverse-engineering code to understand how it works
• Debugging and verifying AI-generated solutions
• Developing independent technical judgment

We will also discuss the practical side of using AI tools, including:

• The differences between free and paid AI accounts
• When paid subscriptions are worth the cost
• Common mistakes new users make when working with AI
• How to recognize hallucinations, bad assumptions, and misleading outputs
• Maintaining privacy and good judgment while working with AI

This is not a traditional programming bootcamp. The goal is not to teach every aspect of Python or software engineering. The goal is to teach students how to learn technical subjects effectively, ask better questions, and develop the confidence to tackle difficult problems independently.

By the end of the course, students should be able to use AI as a powerful learning tool while maintaining control over their own thinking and decision-making.
