About Tanner

As a current high school teacher (and long-time high school student) I know how tough the grind can be. Whole class novels, grammar worksheets, five paragraph essays, it all seems like the death of our barely surviving brain cells. As for me, I prefer to call English the study of Effective Communication, and with me as your tutor, we will go through how to make you a better communicator; think reading and writing, but also speaking and listening. All the sad, difficult parts of English will go to the wayside so that we can focus on the practical aspects of being a good communicator, then translate those skills into a more academic, high school and college approach.

About the lesson

Everything I do is HANDS ON -- meaning you'll be doing a lot of work, both alone and with me, to build literacy and comprehension skills. Lessons will include a lot of reading and a lot of writing, but only to build your confidence in your communication skills. Catered toward secondary students of all grades.
