About Yasmine
My first session usually begins by checking your current tuning and basic setup. I must confess that I prefer accuracy over speed in those early weeks.
We look at your fingerpicking and how to handle chord changes. My BMus from the UBC School of Music informs the way I teach reading tabs and sheet music.
I adjust the pace for teens and hobbyists to ensure you retain every concept. We work on phrasing until the music sounds natural. I look forward to seeing where your musical interests lead us over the coming months.

The smell of rosin and old wood stays with me from my early days performing in folk halls across Canada. I hold a BMus from the UBC School of Music, which provides the bedrock for my technical approach to the guitar. Having taught 91 students, I have seen every type of challenge imaginable.
My 10 years of experience mean I know how to explain chord transitions without making them feel impossible. We will look at maintenance, tabs, and blues progressions as essential parts of your growth.
I enjoy teaching students how to read sheet music because it opens up the entire instrument. Writing songs helps you connect the theory we discuss to your actual playing. You will find my teaching style to be patient and very deliberate. I am confident that we can build a strong musical identity together.
