About Alex

Hello, I’m Alex, a part-qualified auditor based in Manchester. I hold a degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Stirling and am currently preparing for the ACA Advanced level exams in July 2025. I’ve had a challenging yet rewarding journey with the ACA. I completed all 6 certificate exams within the first 3 months and worked through the professional exams over the course of a year. I understand firsthand how tough it can be to balance work, life, and study, and the difficulty of maintaining momentum while managing your mental health and energy levels. With this in mind, I’m eager to share the strategies and techniques I’ve developed over the past year and a half with new ACA students. My aim is to help you navigate the journey more effectively, and I aspire to transition into teaching ACA with Kaplan/BPP once I am fully qualified. I bring real, relatable experience to my tutoring, providing insights and practical methods that will guide you through your ACA studies with confidence.

About the lesson

I offer tailored lessons specifically designed to address your individual needs for ACA exam preparation. Before each session, I’ll ask you about your weak points so I can plan a lesson that is efficient and effective. During the lesson, I’ll walk you through key concepts, rules, and practice questions, ensuring that you understand the material thoroughly. I will also assign manageable homework to reinforce your learning and help with retention. At the start of each lesson, I may test you briefly to check your progress and ensure you’re retaining key information, especially to balance your studies with work life. Although I’m a trainee with no formal teaching experience, my recent exam experience and the various teaching methods I’ve encountered have enabled me to develop a realistic and effective approach to ACA exam preparation. I offer a more affordable alternative to larger tuition providers, while still providing quality, focused lessons that cater to your needs. Lessons are for ACA students at any level below Advanced, and I focus on providing a structured, practical approach to ensure you succeed.
