About Thomas
I worked as the head of subject for Classical Civilisation and a teacher of History at a large sixth form college. I was a personal tutor for most of that time, and took on occasional roles as a teaching quality-assurance team member and as an Oxbridge coordinator. This year I have stepped back from classroom teaching to take a Master's degree.

I have taught a number of units in A Level Classical Civilisation over eleven years. For the current specification, I have experience in 'The World of the Hero', 'The Invention of the Barbarian' and 'Greek Religion'. I have worked as an examiner for A Level History, including for several years as team leader. Lessons are intended for those preparing for A Level assessment, but would also be beneficial for others interested in acquiring understanding of the subject area. Approach is tailored to individual need, but might typically involve thorough discussion of pre-read material with detailed work on essay-writing and assessment skills. Lessons vary in duration by arrangement to suit availability and need.
