About Alice
I recently completed my PhD and hold a Mathematics degree from the University of Warwick, with a strong academic background that includes A-level Mathematics and Further Mathematics—subjects I have consistently excelled in. Maths has always been my strongest subject, and over time I’ve found that explaining it to others comes naturally to me. I genuinely enjoy working with students and helping them overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve their goals. I’m particularly motivated to tutor because I want to give back by sharing the skills and understanding I’ve developed over the years. As I take a flexible gap year, tutoring allows me to work remotely while doing something meaningful.

I’m an experienced and dedicated private mathematics tutor who focuses on delivering real, measurable progress for every student. My approach begins by identifying a clear goal—whether that’s improving grades, building confidence, or preparing for exams. I then assess the student’s current level with a diagnostic paper to pinpoint specific areas of difficulty. From there, I create tailored lesson plans that directly target those gaps, breaking down complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand ideas using clear explanations and practical examples. If a student already knows the areas they want to improve, we can dive straight into strengthening those topics. My teaching method is built on three key stages: understanding the problem, mastering the concept, and consolidating knowledge through practice. I reinforce learning with challenging questions, including exam-style and beyond-curriculum problems, to ensure deep understanding and long-term retention. With a patient, structured, and results-driven approach, I aim not just to help students succeed in maths, but to build their confidence and independence in tackling any problem.
