I have been an educator for 12 years and have experience teaching students from kindergarten to grade 8. I have a tremendous passion for teaching and the learning process and I am looking forward to supporting you on your educational journey. My teaching methodology is based on deeper learning and helping to foster a love of lifelong learning in my students. I firmly believe that my students are at the forefront of their learning. Basing my teaching style on deeper learning allows me to work with my students to empower them to think deeper, work collaboratively and problem-solve in meaningful ways each and every day.
A typical lesson plan would include:
- an activation activity, (to gauge current understanding)
- discuss learning outcomes (goals, objectives)
- lesson, (I do, we do, you do) where I am able to scaffold and check for understanding
- asses student learning
What sets me apart as a tutor: Growing up I really struggled with reading and comprehension. In grade 2, I had this amazing learning support teacher who worked with me one on one. With her support, creative teaching methods and patience I was able to reach my learning goals.
My lessons would be for students from k-8.
