About Jacques
Hi, I am a passionate teacher of Life and the Sciences that support it. I am currently the head of Biology at a top 10 independent school and have been teaching in one for the last decade. I have also marked exam papers for the last 8 years. Before that I taught in UK schools and I consider myself a relaxed, internationally minded teacher of high school sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics & Psychology) I hold an honors degree in Psychology from UNISA and a teaching degree and a Bachelor's of Science from Stellenbosch.

My teaching style is driven by client needs. I believe clients seek out online (and often additional help) since what is offered to them currently and traditionally is not working.
I am very adaptable individual, who easily make connection with high school students and young adults. I can deliver lessons online on any chosen platform and I have my own drawing and multimedia hardware. I can conduct lessons in English or Afrikaans
My general lesson structure will be on of the following:
1) client bring specific problem to be solved, so we work on that problem together via online demonstration.
2) client bring specific area of weakness to be addressed so it would be a mini lecture with opportunities to interrupt and a relevant problem to be solved under my supervision to see where concepts are incorrectly applied or poorly communicated.
3)Extension lesson includes multiple sources of information which would need to be synthesised into an essay, responded to using context in response, or critically assessed for its validity, reliability and precision.
