Lessons with Mrs Charis Esselaar (my students call me Mrs E) are student-centered, adaptive to student learning style with essential and helpful resources provided, as well as results-driven. My aim is to motivate students to build confidence, academic curiosity and tangible learning success. I foster an inclusive teaching-learning environment that allows students to grow, ask questions, challenge and overcome difficulties. I use several techniques when addressing students, namely diagnostic assessments; active learning; scaffolding; feedback loops and adaptive instruction. Lessons include Warm-up Activities; Learning objectives; Core instruction; Practice and Application; Review and Feedback; Summary and Preview. Lessons are personalized to match the needs, goals, pace and ability of students, therefore making my lessons suitable to Primary and Secondary students; Examination preparation levels; Adult learners and ESL students.
