About Brianna

Psychology combines science, social understanding, biology, and human behavior. It involves studying the brain and nervous system, learning research methods and statistics, understanding social and cultural influences, and examining how thoughts, beliefs, schemas, and cognitive biases shape behavior and decision making. My academic and internship training reflects this full scope. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, where I developed a strong foundation in: 1. Brain–behavior relationships 2. Cognitive processes such as perception, memory, and learning 3. Psychological research methods and scientific reasoning 4. Social psychology, development, and personality theory 5. Abnormal psychology and diagnostic frameworks I am currently completing a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling (MHC), which deepens my understanding of: 1. How people think, interpret experiences, and form belief systems (schemas) 2. Cognitive biases and how they influence behavior and emotions 3. Emotional regulation, coping strategies, and stress responses 4. Ethical practice, professionalism, and client-centered communication 5. Applying psychological theory to real-world situations This combination allows me to teach psychology not just as textbook content, but as a living, applied discipline that explains why people think, feel, and behave the way they do. Why This Matters for Tutoring Because of my background, I can: 1. Explain complex psychological concepts clearly and accurately 2. Connect theory to real-life examples that make learning stick 3. Help students understand why concepts matter—not just memorize them 4. Teach psychology using both scientific accuracy and human understanding 5. About the lesson

Why learn with me? My approach combines my strong psychology background and mental health counselor experience so lessons are both educational and empowering. I hold a BA in Psychology and will be graduating in May 2026 with my Master's in Mental Health Counseling (MHC). This means I don't just teach psychology, I help you understand how it actually works in real life. How does it work? My teaching style is interactive, reflective, and tailored to how you learn. I don't lecture, I work with you. Through reflection, meaningful exploration, and real-world application, you will improve grades and confidence at the same time. Psychology tutoring (educational only- includes psychoeducation when appropriate) : $30/hr For all grade levels and ages. Mental health therapy session (includes talk therapy and individualized treatment plan with personalized objectives and goals) : $45/hr For all ages and presenting challenges. Psychology tutoring with therapy included (30 mins each) : $50/hr For all grade levels, ages, and presenting challenges. Offering flexible scheduling: 30 mins of psychology tutoring- twice a week: $15/day 30 mins of talk therapy- twice a week: $25/day 30 mins of combined services- twice a week: $30/day ******From January 1-March 1 2026, new clients receive 50% off any service/bundle listed for one month.
