Teaching Method and Techniques

I believe that learning the piano is about developing both technical skill and musical expression. My teaching method combines fundamental technique with musicality, and I try to build a connection between the music you're playing and the emotions it evokes. Here’s how:

Strong Foundation: Every student, regardless of level, needs a solid foundation. This involves learning music theory, reading sheet music, and building good finger technique early on. We’d also focus on hand positioning, posture, and basic exercises (like scales and arpeggios) that help you develop dexterity.

Learning by Ear: While reading sheet music is key, I also encourage students to learn pieces by ear. It’s fun and really helps in developing a deeper understanding of music and melody. I might ask you to play along with a song you like, even if it's just a few notes or chords.

Progressive Difficulty: I pace lessons based on your progress. If you're new to piano, we’d start slow, but if you’re more advanced, I’d focus on refining your technique, interpreting complex pieces, and tackling more difficult music theory concepts.
