About Chirodip
Chirodip Naha is from Cumilla, a small city in Bangladesh. He did his undergraduate studies at Ashoka University in India, majoring in political science and minoring in creative writing. He has an MFA in Creative Writing (fiction) from North Carolina State University. He was a finalist for the James Hurst Prize for Fiction and has received support and fellowship from the Bread Loaf Translator’s Conference, Ashoka University’s Creative Writing Program and the International Writing Program (University of Iowa), among others. His short stories have been published in different magazines and newspapers in India, Bangladesh, and the USA - along with magazines like the Collision Literary Magazine, Exodus, and Oneating.

I emphasize storytelling as a craft—helping students develop their unique voices while grounding their writing in technique, structure, and literary tradition. My psychology background influences my teaching, as I encourage students to explore the psychological depth of characters and the behavioral underpinnings of storytelling. I also integrate global perspectives in literature courses, challenging students to engage with diverse voices and narratives beyond the Western canon.
