About Michael
I have taught over a thousand students English literature at the university level for over 20 years. Students of mine have gone on to successful careers in law, medicine, business, and many other professions. I show students how reading literature can successfully impact their professions, and their lives in general. I make poems and novels come alive, and accessible and understandable to everyone.

I teach students to read and comprehend literary texts (prose essays, drama, novels, and poetry) by paying close attention to the language used in those works. I proceed by both lecture and question and answer. With comprehension and understanding of great works of literature comes pleasure and enjoyment in reading.
