Experienced licensed teacher, educator, and tutor with over 25 years experience. Have taught in various settings: public school, private school, online tutoring, online group, small group in person, 1:1 in person, etc. I customize every tutoring plan to meet the learner's needs. Adept tutor able to adjust teaching plan as needed. I believe that students learn best when they have a good working relationship with the educator. Due to educational changes in recent years, many of our student have gaps in their reading skills. Through a systematic approach that utilizes phonemic awareness, direct instruction, and interactive methods to interact with elementary and middle grade students.
A typical 30 minute lesson consists of phonemic awareness exercises, direct phonemic instruction, review, spelling, word and sentence work and more. Each lesson builds on the last, giving young learners a firm foundation to support learning.
Recommended Plan: I recommend 2-4 30-minute lessons per week so that learners get an intense tutoring so that they gain new skills quickly and can retain. A 10 hour plan gives you 20 lessons.
Assessments: The first lesson is an assessment. The last lesson in your package will also be an assessment, so that you can see learner growth.
