About Kate
I have been a Social Sciences Teacher for almost ten years. I have a degree in Psychology and Sociology and a PGCE in Social Sciences and have also tutored for a private tuition centre in the past. I also have experience of tutoring students with barriers to learning in mainstream education such as anxiety or trauma. A vast majority of my students have achieved a grade C or above in external examinations after utilising the written and verbal feedback and guidance I have provided. I believe that once a positive rapport has been established between the tutor and the learner, the possibilities are limitless!

I am a supportive, kind and patient tutor who believes praise and positivity will not only enable progress within the subject but will also build the student's confidence. I can help to prepare students for the external examinations at the end of the year in a formative and fun manner. My lessons can be tailored to suit the individual needs of the learner and I am happy to undertake general subject tutoring or to focus on one area/ topic the learner is finding challenging. I can help to strengthen examination techniques and I prepare and provide all resources for the lesson in advance.
