About Zahra
I am a patient, organised, and reliable English tutor who is committed to helping students improve their confidence and skills in reading, writing, and proofreading. I take a professional and supportive approach to every lesson, ensuring students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace. Having recently completed my GCSEs and achieved a Grade 8 in English, I have a strong understanding of the curriculum and what examiners expect. My approach to tutoring is supportive, structured, and tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on building confidence first, as this helps students improve naturally in their reading and writing skills. Lessons are adapted to the student’s level and learning style, whether they need help understanding texts, improving spelling and grammar, or developing stronger written responses. I use clear explanations, guided practice, and examples to help students understand what they are doing and why. For reading, I work on comprehension, vocabulary, and inference skills. For writing, I help students plan their work, improve sentence structure, and develop clearer, more effective answers. For proofreading, I teach students how to spot and correct common mistakes independently, which is especially useful for exams. A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, as this allows enough time to explain content, practise skills, and review progress without overwhelming the student. I have completed my GCSEs and achieved a Grade 8 in English, giving me strong subject knowledge and a clear understanding of what examiners look for. As a recent GCSE student, I can explain concepts in a way that is easy to understand and relatable. My lessons are suitable for primary school students, KS3, and GCSE-level students, particularly those who want to improve their reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and confidence in English.
