About Yusuf

I am a passionate and approachable tutor with a strong love for education and teaching, specialising in GCSE Biology. I studied in Sheffield, where I developed both subject knowledge and the ability to explain complex ideas in simple, clear ways. Alongside tutoring, I manage a family restaurant, where I’ve gained valuable experience in organisation, leadership, and communication. Outside of teaching, I’m someone who enjoys life and has a wide range of interests. I love playing and watching sports, exploring niche places that not everyone knows about, and I have a real interest in unique clothing styles. I also have a passion for collecting perfumes, which is something that inspires my creativity and eye for detail. I bring this same energy and enthusiasm into my tutoring. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions, build understanding, and enjoy learning. I’m committed, reliable, and always encourage my students to reach their full potential while keeping lessons engaging and enjoyable.

About the lesson

I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to each individual’s needs and learning style. My approach combines clear explanations with plenty of practice questions, real-life examples, and regular feedback to keep students engaged and motivated. I also focus on developing exam techniques and confidence, as these are just as important as understanding the content. A typical lesson lasts around 60 minutes, though I can adapt the length if needed. I usually start by reviewing what the student already knows, then introduce new topics in small, manageable steps. I encourage students to ask questions and explain concepts back to me, as teaching something in their own words helps build deeper understanding. I have experience in education through my studies and my passion for teaching. Alongside this, I’ve developed strong communication and problem-solving skills from roles in phone repair and as a restaurant manager, where I regularly train staff, organise promotions, and manage resources. These experiences help me explain complex ideas simply and clearly. My lessons are mainly designed for GCSE students, though I’m happy to support younger learners who want to strengthen their science foundations. I aim to create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, so they can learn and improve.
