About Sunshine
And through the trees glint stars
the leaves reflect each mirrored sunbeam - green
the snow-like shower that's frozen to the branch
their pattern 'gainst the lake where blue,
the sky looks up at me includes me in the scene

between the great wide sky and water far below
where shadows grow and slowly change their shape
the image of the firs and birches weep their colours
slightly blurred such beautiful floating forms
that quietly sink into the brain
perceived this sunny autumn morning
not in rain but warmth of sun
**
I sit against a trunk the needles vapours
scents supernal caress my thoughts
while ants now busy in the fall
on errands now important
grey roots so worn by passing tread
cling tight to rock and forest bed
in hope they wont succumb to stormy gusts
a lorry makes its way along a forest-hidden road
a plane sears by in heaven's vault
a child and mother speak
then silence folds its hands on me
there on my wild wood seat
