I would like to look at your basic understanding of the subject being studied. The teacher helps the student but I also think that the student helps the teacher which is why I encourage you to shout when there is a problem. Towards the end of each lesson I would test the student with questions that reflect what has been studied in that session and test the student on topics that may be relevant next. I would focus on teaching lower level secondary school maths. I have no experience tutoring but as a university student I have gained understanding on how to approach a one to one teaching scenario. My lessons would be an hour long and longer if needed.
